Decision Diamonds are basically meant for when your contact goes into a campaign and they’re running through the sequences if they’re.If you want it to be two different outcomes based on contact information, tags what they filled out in the form.
You can actually have it split and have kind of an, if this, then that option in here.
It’s easier to explain when you see it, so I’m going to go ahead and show you guys. So, let’s say and I’m going to move this back a little bit. So I need a little bit of extra space, maybe not that much.
Let’s say I have two different email sequences here so I have let’s say they are already a paying client or let’s say since we’re doing a home buyer guide example in here. Let’s say they are already a buyer lead, and let’s say maybe they are not a buyer lead, okay.
So when they register for this home buyer guide, if they’re already a buyer lead I don’t want to try and get them to become a buyer lead in our system. If they’re already a lead in our system this is just another item of value they registered for cool send it to them, good to go. Now if they’re not a buyer lead then we want to may want to send them specific emails asking them if they already have an agent or; or if they’re interested in buying a house in the area.
Or when they may be interested in buying their house. To try and get that lead in the system as a legit buyer, okay. So in order to create the Decision Diamond, you can see there’s no Decision Diamond option in here anywhere. So to create a Decision Diamond what you have to do, is take a goal and/or; or a sequence. You can connect sequences to other sequences to create this. But you’re going to take that initial goal sequence.
You’re going to drag the arrow to the first sequence which we’ve already done you’re going to drag it to the second sequence and that’s going to create this little diamond. Because it’s basically saying, hey there are two different outcomes here. How do you want me to determine who goes to what? So what I’m going to do is double-click on this diamond and you’ll see rules for the already a buyer lead sequence.
And rules for not a buyer lead sequence. Now with this, you do want to name these sequences first or it’s going to get very confusing. To do that you can double click on the name of the sequence typically it says untitled sequence, and then you can just type in the name there. So, I’m going to go back into the diamond here, so already a buyer leads so I’m going to click on this little rule option and you have a few different options here.
So, if the contacts so you have a lot of different options here. This is going to pull from your contact record, and what tabs and fields that you have. So, if the contacts I’m going to say tags, actually with ours I’m going to do I think person type. If the contact field, person type and you could say equals or does not equal depending on how you want them to filter in their system.
So, this is already a buyer lead so I want to say if they already are a…Is there a buyer option here? No, I don’t think it’s in that section. Let me try it in this section, here okay. I’m just going to do this. So, if they if they’re a real estate lead in our system I want them to go into this already a lead category, okay. Now I’m going to do the same thing here except I’m going to do, does not equal. So, if the contacts, tracking details, contact type does not equal real-estate lead then I want them to go here.
So they oppose each other, now if you have a lot of different criteria in here that’s where it’s going to get a little tricky. I recommend only having one filter so two different sequences they could go into. They either have the criteria you’re meeting or they don’t have the criteria that you want them to meet. You can do tags, so if the contacts tags contain or doesn’t contain the tag that you’re putting in then you can put that in here.
Now, one thing to keep in mind here if the contacts tag contains buyer I’m just going to pick any tag here just to have it in here. You can have either say and or; or okay. So or means they have this tag or they have the other tag that I’m putting in here, okay. If you do and then they must have the tag you’re putting in here and the tag that you’re choosing next.
They must have both. Now there’s another and option down here and what this is; is if the contacts tag contains that tag and you could also say if the contacts lead tracking details, lead type is a real estate lead.
So they must have the buyer tag, and they must also be a real estate lead to go into that sequence. You can also add another rule in here, and say they either have to meet these criteria or this criterion to meet it. That’s where it gets a little a little complicated you want to make sure you’re very careful with what you choose.
Like I said I recommend having two sequences and having them oppose each other. So you could also do in here, let’s say the contact, contacts tag contains this buyer tag.
But let’s say they’re a dead lead, so let me see and if the contacts tags. I’m sorry the lead tracking details, contact fields I think it was person type that I had that under equals dead lead then I want them to go into this one.
Now that doesn’t oppose these, so if they don’t fall into either of these then they’re not going to go anywhere they’re going to be stuck. So I always recommend opposing them so then what I would do is contact leads tracking details. IS contact type, so I’m just matching this and then where it says equals is where I’m going to oppose it. Does not equal real-estate lead. So they; they both match in the fact that they have that tag but they opposed to where one is a lead already in one is not okay.
So again I usually recommend only having one piece of criteria to keep it as simple as possible but sometimes you have to add more. This one’s very simple, this one contacts type equals this or it doesn’t equal this, okay.
That’s going to be the easiest way to do it, all right so again you can pull these from tags. You can pull these from appointments which I think is a tag that we set up, oh yeah. So, these are all fields that we had set up custom fields, contact fields or tags. Those are the only decision diamond criteria you could pull off of, you can’t pull from orders; you can’t pull off of appointments.
You can’t pull off of opportunities, so you want to make sure that your system is applying the proper tags and has the proper fields for you to be able to do the decision diamonds the way that you want to do them. When you’re done you just go back and when the criteria is all filled out in full sequences have information in them the diamond will turn green.
Now keep in mind if the, if you have a decision diamond, so I’m going to do this one more time here that has no criteria in it but you turn both sequences on as ready. Sometimes you’ll notice that the diamond will turn green. Always double check and make sure your diamond has criteria otherwise your contacts are going to get stuck.
Okay now once this field or this form is filled out and it has maybe checkboxes or like multiple select options. Your decision diamond can also pull based off that form, and it can say if the contacts form has this option selected then go to this sequence. And if it has the other option selected go to this sequence, so you can pull based off of form options as well. But because I haven’t created multiple select options in that form it didn’t give me that option here.
When you have your sequences here you can either have them go ahead and complete the rest of the sequence the same way using that same end goal. Or you can have it branch off on its own little world here if you want these to all be particular to the buyer lead. But if these emails are not particular to whether they’re a lead or not then you can just have them click the lead and continue the sequence as normal.
It just depends on how generic or how specific you want those emails to be based on whether they are a lead or not a lead or whatever criteria you have set.
